How to create your own website:What you need:Domain Name-Your domain name should contain keywords that describe your company or website. The shorter the better, and use .com if possible. Go to GoDaddy.com, it's cheaper and it's a good idea to have your domain registered at a different place than your hosting company. Search for a domain name and register it. You'll want to Host it with elsewhere, so for now, you'll want to "Park" your domain at GoDaddy. When you have content for your website at your hosting company (this will be done in your next step, so you'll want to return here after your hosting and content are ready), the the Domain Name Server (DNS) will be pointed to your hosting accounts server. Here's how:
Hosting Company-This is needed to upload your websites files and pages to be accessable to the Web.
Go to HostGator.com. They are one of the cheapest with great customer support, a control panel (CPanel), and many applications for functionality. Click on the link "Web Hosting" at the top. To start out, get their "Hatchling" if you are only going to have one domain. If you are planning to have more than one website, choose their "Baby" account. You can always upgrade later if needed. Be sure to write down your account user information and you'll also need the "Name Servers" (i.e. "ns409.websitewelcome.com" and "ns410.websitewelcome.com") you will need this for pointing your domain name within GoDaddy to the Domain Name Server at HostGator. Content-There are several options for contents. You pages need to be created with html code for your internet browsers to show your content correctly on the Web. You can either hire a Web Designer/Developer to do this, use a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor program like Dreamweaver that you can build and upload your files to your hosting account via file transfer protocol (ftp), or use HostGator free SiteBuilder and SiteStudio Website building tools.
